Just a Random Gripe

Ok so today I will get off my little political soapbox, (Kinda) and address some of the mental midgets that have been pestering me the last couple of weeks. For whatever reason I attract these flies more than Paris Hilton's.....well just say I get a lot of them.

#1) The guy in the bathroom that insists on using it as an office. I have had more people stand right next to me and yap about the kids or a contract. All the while I'm trying to pee. I'm half tempted to find out where they work, make an appointment and when I get seen just start peeing on their desk. No words. No handshake. Just a puddle and good bye. Now I am sure that this will not work at all seeing as how the cops get a little testy about peeing on Sr. VP's mahogony desk, so....I found an easier solution. Use it if need be. Wait till one of these cell phone clown clowns is in a good short range and while he is talking throw your head back and SCREAM...Ahhhh the pain.....the pain...Then look over at him with hurt in your eyes and proclaim "Well at least that's how I know the medicine's working" It helps if you can muster up a tear.

#2) People that think they can get a "deal" because the economy is in the tank...According to Chairman Obama. I deal with group events and get tons of calls a day asking what kind of discount do I give for large groups. None. Zero.Either of those work for you? "But we're in a recession. We need to stop making huge profits and start thinking about others." I heard this THIS WEEK. Dude works in a decent industry and got offended because I would not offer him a discount on services provided. I asked him if he went to his boss and told him to cut his salary so he could help out. He said it wasn't the same thing. I work off of commission you chowder head! How is it not the same thing. "Because you work for a celebrity" My reply was "Holy crap my wife and little girl are famous now?"
CLICK

#3) People that have no argument. Not people with a different opinion. We need those in the world, but for GOD's SAKE be able to defend the ignorance that comes out of your mouth. Too often I get in discussions with people who think I'm the freaking Devil because I am a conservative. I tell them why I believe the things I believe and all I get in return..."You're just wrong." Well why am I wrong? "Because" Because what? "Because you are. You're just wrong" Well come on man I'm trying to help you out. What part am I wrong about? "All of it" All of what? "All of it. It's just all wrong." Well what's right? "Not that" Not what? "What you just said" So what do you think we should do about anything? "Trust the government." What? Why? They are the problem. "Give them a chance?" To do what? "Fix things" How? "George W. Bush screwed them up and couldn't fix anything" So? "So just try a new approach" But it won't work. "How do you know?" I took economics, history and freakin math in school. I know. well we'll just have to see........I tell these people to come and find me when they have a headache. I can save them money on asprin by shooting them in the head. When they look at me funny I tell them. "You're the one into trying things that absolutly will not work!"

#4) People who base their assesment of you one your college and not your arguments. I went to the University of Alabama. Roll Tide. I got into a discussion recently about the auto industry and how to get it back on it's feet. The conversation turned to letting the companies fail so they could restructure and shed off some of the excess debt and bad contracts they were under. No Lie!!! "Well I'm not sure if they teach economics at Alabama, but..." I wanted to smack him. What do you think they teach you dolt? Skinnin' a Buck 101? Advanced Monster Truck Repair? Professional Wrestling Advice? Inner-Family Relationship Philosophy? No Holds Barred Smash Mouth Football?.....Well that one ok. But seriously, I graduated from the College of Communication. That, BY THE FREAKIN' WAY is ranked 7th NATIONALLY by the National Communication Association. Suck on that you idiot. Where did you go to school? Answer? Rice College.......Rice......that's not a college thats a side dish.

#5) People and their Facebook Causes. Stop sending these to me. If it's important to me I already know about it and am already doing my part. I'm sure canine breath awareness is very important to you, but Spot's stank breath doesn't need to tie up my email. I know people in the world with giant hair ridden moles on their forehead need a common voice, but I am not that guy. Sure you may know somwone who has cronic public flatulance issues, but I do not want to donate to finding a cure. This goes for the "Protect a flower today" groups and the "Hollywood stars who care" groups as well. I don't think the Earth is melting and I hate actors who use their fame to spout political garbage all over the world. Keep it to yourselves. My causes are well known and I am happy not hearing about any more. The only exception is the new one that I joined promoting the Tax Party here in Memphis. I can get down with that.

That's all for today. I feel better. Back to work.

The Morning Bell (From my Inbox to you!!)

Typically I take information I see as important and give my take on it, but this AIG thing has me REAL worked up. As I am going through my emails this morning I came across my daily email from The Heritage Foundation. They summed it up perfectly!! This bit of information is from them, but I believe all should read it.

“If you don’t return it on your own, we will do it for you.” So warned Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) referring to the $165 million in bonuses paid to employees of the 80% taxpayer owned insurance company AIG. And how did Schumer plan to force those employees to give their compensation back? With a specially targeted 91% tax. Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) later upped the bidding to 95% but Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) refused to be out-demagogued and proposed a full 100% tax. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) then demanded that the House Ways and Means Committee draw up legislation by the end of this week.

But these suggestions pale in comparison to what Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA) wanted to see happen: “But I would suggest the first thing that would make me feel a little bit better toward them if they’d follow the Japanese example and come before the American people and take that deep bow and say, I’m sorry, and then either do one of two things: resign or go commit suicide.” Ritual suicide seems a little harsh considering the $165 million in question makes up just .09% of the $173 billion the taxpayers have spent bailing out AIG. But this is what happens when the federal government chooses to not just set the rules for free market competition, but to become a full fledged market participant. And under the Obama Administration, direct government participation in the market is expanding fast. Setting AIG and Wall Street aside for a moment, the Obama Administration has also seen fit to take over the auto industry, double down on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s participation in the housing industry, and fast-track government control health care. Returning to the banking crisis, the White House’s willingness to abrogate contracts outside of lawful bankruptcy proceedings is guaranteed to undermine their plans for stabilizing the banking sector. The Washington Post reports: “The attack by lawmakers on AIG pay has provoked renewed complaints from some financial company executives that federal involvement in business decisions is making it difficult for struggling firms to return to profitability. … A senior executive at one of the nation’s largest banks said he had heard from several hedge funds that they would not partner with the government for fear that lawmakers would impose retroactive conditions on their participation, such as limits on compensation or disclosure requirements.” This past Sunday, National Economic Council director Lawrence Summers told ABC News: “We are a country of law. There are contracts. The government cannot just abrogate contracts.” This is exactly why government participation in the market, and all the political considerations it necessarily entails, undermines the rule of law which is the foundation of our success as a free market nation. As one executive at a private-equity firm told the Washington Post:
Why do you think Hong Kong is a better place to do business than Shanghai? Because of the certainty of the contracts. Once the uncertainty factor goes up, the less interested you are in doing business because it becomes a more risky proposition.

So far it's parties and speeches for this group of crooks. In between the circle jerk he gets to take from us and give to others. He has the audacity to have a meeting like this? That's like a Bill Clinton "Ethical Uses of Cigars" meeting. Or a Jeffery Dahmer "What also tastes like chicken" meeting. YOU CRINGE AT THE THOUGHT!!! He said something that amazed me today. His speech writers put in a little sound bite that I bit on. It was "We cannot take on a deficit that our children cannot pay back"
Hey genius.....
I wouldn't borrow money against my sweet little daughter. Why the hell do you think I'm so upset that you are?

Lessons for the week

A real live person asked me how tax cuts would benefit anyone other than the rich and how it would keep tax money flowing to the government so they could keep programs open. Deciding to let the "Massive cuts in government" argument go for the day I attempted to show him in a very simple and easy to understand way. This person works in the restaurant industry so I used that industry as the example. Here is what I told him.
(All names have been changed to protect the innocent and the not so innocent)
Joe owns a successful restaurant in Memphis and wants to expand his business into two different cities. Joe pays $15 in taxes for each location he has. If he opened both he would have $30 in new taxes and that is too much so he will only be able to open one. He opens one and has to hire 10 people to work in his new restaurant. They all pay $1 in taxes. By staying the same we have 1 new company, 10 new jobs and $25 in new tax money.
Now
Let's cut Joe's taxes to $10 per club. Now he CAN afford to open both new locations. $30 was too much, but $20 is just under the max he could afford. Now he has to staff those two clubs. The same rules apply and he needs to hire 10 people at each new club. Now do the math. We have 20 new jobs and $40 in new tax money.
By cutting corporate taxes, the government would allow people like Joe to go out and grow their business. New Jobs are created and the economy gets back on it's feet.
EVEN WITH THIS.....There were questions.
Q) Who's to say that all companies do this?
A) Nothing. But successful companies and businesses are always looking to grow. They do this through good investments and good business decisions. Use either of those two in a sentence with the word government. Some will not expand. They may take the extra tax cuts and pay off debt they got into with the high taxes. Guess What....That's good as well. Some will, some won't the point is that a free market will work better than government "Asset Redistribution"
Q) What about those 20 people that didn't get a cut in their taxes. Joe got his lowered by $5 and they still pay $1.
A) Correct all we did was cut the corporate tax rate. The individual still pays the same amount. BUT 20 people now have a job and can provide for their family. Paying $1 in taxes and having a job is better than paying no taxes and not having a job.
Of course the usual questions and statements about past administration and past spending and the war and global cooling and oil and cars that run on baby farts and elfkin tears all came up as well. But I try not to bite off more than I can chew. We'll just start small. I have given up on the idiots in Washington that forgot they work for us and not over us. I am focusing on a local level.

A daily rant

Seriously? Really?

People I know have me using these words all the time. It's usually with a dumbfounded look after they tell me how Obama can fix the economy by spending money. I am trying to explain how this is just a way for them to get approval to the safe and hand out money to those that got them elected and will keep in office.

I really don't know how people can see this as a good idea.

Some examples of stupidity:

They say this...

The goal is to get people to spend money at a time when most are cutting back and saving more. It makes sense to be frugal when the economy is in such bad shape, but it hurts the economy when everyone does it.

Now why are we in bad shape? Most in the media, Most in the white house and Most with no real knowledge of the situation will say the "Failed policies and practices of the last 8 years" Well kinda...I put more into the last two years than the entire 8, but whatever. The truth of the matter is we borrowed too much and invested it unwisely. That's it. Now they want to borrow more and invest it again. We've done this now 3 times and it has not worked. I swear everytime these idiots talk I hear clips of Forrest Gump in my head.

Millions of additional low-income workers who don't make enough money to pay income taxes would get checks from the government when they file their 2009 tax returns.

Read it again. That's the definition of welfare. I paid my taxes because I went to work. Someone else gets that money because they did not. As anyone that knows me will tell you, I have a way with words. I know when they are using words to make things sound better. It's all in how you word things. "Global Warming" has now been shifted to "Climate Change" because...well it has been freaking cold and nobody was buying Al Gore's repackaged speeches. "American Recovery and Reinvestment" has been changed to "Stimulus Package" because the majority of Americans don't need to recover. I'm fine. Once the government gets what it wants I won't be, but right now.....I'm fine. The Reinvestment was the problem. The spreading the wealth was the problem. Not popular with the tax payers.

So all the ear marks, BS infrastructure/education/medicine spending and new computers for the federal buildings aside...what are they trying to sell the American people. Tax Breaks....IF!!

Buy a new house. (First time buyers only. The rest of us can get more energy efficient and get up to 30% credited back in April.) Unless you have money to pay up front you have to finance that. $1,500 credit in taxes.....or as I like to call it. 1 to 3 months free...then the mortgage is on you. What if you can't afford that? What if you buy a house for the tax credit and then realize you can't afford that? Do you think the struggling banking system is going to care? NOPE

Buy a new car. The money you pay in sales tax and interest can be deducted. So says the Senate...Not the house. What if you don't need a new car. Spending $10 to save $1 is just spending $9. And why new cars? They already got paid. Can't we buy something else?

Pop out some more kids. -- The Earned Income Tax Credit would be expanded for poor families with three or more children who pay no income taxes. The maximum check they could receive from the government would rise $5,028 to $5,656. YUP. If all this stimulus causes you to reproduce another child.....more free money.

Why can't they just understand that THEY are the problem. Well they call it greed. I call it success, but we do see some greed in the system. That's just the way it goes. Some business people will make bad decisions. This is where a free market society will see those decisions and go to a competitor. The problem with government is that it is a living breathing beast. It will fight to survive just as all other living breathing beasts do. In order to get out of the American Tax Payers way....THEY have to cut jobs and stop spending. Why no tax breaks?

I'll say this so you can all understand it.

Our tax dollars are their salaries.

If we stop paying taxes or pay less in taxes, they have to cut back on what they can spend and what they can make. Hell they may have to cut government jobs!!

I hope this helps. As a new daddy I feel obligated to educate these days. Here I am educating my little girl on Realistic "Alternative Renewable Energy" This is domestic daddy power.

For my friends that drank the Kool-Aid

Apparently all my discussion about the new administration taking away individual rights and trampling on the Constitution has gotten on the nerves of some of the people that had the tingling sensation running down their leg. (Actual quote on 1-20-09 by the media) I am getting blasted by the "Yes He Did" crowd that I work with.

...On a side note, I believe I could make a fortune printing shirts that said "Yes He Did" Of course mine would be a picture of Darius Rucker (Hootie) and at the bottom in "liberal brain tiny" font say "Make it in Country Music".......But I digress.

Everybody keeps asking why I am so upset and why I keep talking about it. The answer is simple I have 244 reasons to be upset and only 188 to be optimistic. (That's the house vote for the Siegfried and Roy Recovery Package. I don't want to explain that too many times to some people.) I see and hear the mania overtaking the logic and it frightens me as a worker and a father.

Today I was told that I needed to focus on finding something nice about the Obama Administration. I told this individual that the only solice I have now is laughing at some of the talk show hosts and guests I hear on Sirius. (Free Advertising - it's Mike Church in the morning and Mark Levin in the evening. I listen to Andrew Wilkow as well, but I get these two coming and going to work. Wilkow is on during the day while I am busy.) the humor I find however is heard on another channel and is the voice of the Liberals. Mark Thompson hosts a show that recently has me rolling. Not really in a good way, but the calls he gets are funny/disturbing to me. I'll leave it at that.

NOW! In a quest to find something funny I took to the Internet like I always do in search of humor. I came across TONS of stuff by combining the words "Obama" "Democrat" "Stimulus Package" "Global Warming" to words like "Funny" "Humorous" "Laughter" "Fuzzy Feeling" (The stimulus package/fuzzy feeling combo got some interesting results.)

I found some things that caused me to chuckle. I found some things that caused me to get upset. I found some things that took me into a new direction.

BUT

At the end of it all I walked away with a new reason to smile.

This guy is hilarious!!! The second video is better than the first!!

Siegfried and Roy take Washington

Ok so short of the white tigers, it appears to me that Obama and his transparently ignorant crew have become the masters of illusion. In their newest trick, The "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act", they have all the news channels, the media types and the idiots watching thinking that they are creating jobs and giving money to all!!

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!

I downloaded the summary. (HR1 was 675 pages long. This one is only 13) There is no Hope and Change in here......Unless you hope the new federal automobiles are now going to be white and we change the federal computers from PC to Mac.

Yup. While average Joe Blow is waiting for his $500 check, the government is going to fix up the country. Call Santa and tell him you do not want these things in your stocking this year. Jolly Obama had it covered.
- Digital Transmission availability - $650 million to make sure all the people in Never Never land can still watch TV. It's important now more than ever with the President on more than those poor kids in Africa that I can feed for just $1 a week.
- New Computers at the Social Security Administration - $600 million to update the computer system at the Social Security Administration. "Hi I'm a Tax Payer and I'm a free government computer"
- Better Federal Buildings? Check! $6.7 Billion
- Better Federal Autos? Check! $600 million (Calm down buses and trucks you get an additional 400 million)

The list goes on and on.

This is how the liberals get what they want. Everyone feels happy about being dragged out of this and end the end. My girl will have to pay this welfare package off and the govenrment will have taken over the banks and medicine.

So here are the arguments I get.
"Well Chris the building of roads and such will create jobs"
* Ok the road is built. Now what do the workers do? This is not a maintaining job. Do we need a road there or is it just a work project? The government gives the money to the state and the state decides who does the work....or keeps the money and does it themselves. (Calculate the number of people in government to do this and take their salary out of the $ amount)
"At least give them a chance. He's working at fixing the economy."
*
No and No. Why would I give him a chance to screw up the economy? I know what he is doing is not going to work. That's like having a really nice criminal come into the house and threaten me a gun point for my money. "Give him a chance Chris" NO dumb ass! And he's not working he's still campaigning. He's got his own fricken channel by now. Get off my TV and get to work!

Cutting taxes is the best way to get out of this, but they will not do that, because WE fund THEM and if WE stop funding THEM, they may have to get a job!
